If you want to change the world, follow your dreams!

START-UP

One of the trending kdramas this 2020 is Start-Up starring Bae Suzy (Seo Dal-mi) Nam Joo-hyuk (Nam Do-san), Kang Han Na (Won/Seo In-jae) and Kim Seon-ho (Han Ji-pyeong). This South Korean Drama made me laugh like no one is looking, gave me the "kilig" vibes, and made me cry like a river. But, more than that this drama made me realize things in life:

Standing up and owning your choices.

- In the first episode, Dal-mi asked In-jae if she have regretted her choices in life. I know everyone of us are might be a victim of failed choices, questioning if we made the right choice, and regretted a lot, but these made us tough and strong. Standing and owning your choices in life shows accountability, if you harm someone in your journey apologies. Be humble, committed and accountable.

Trust in yourself and others.

- The wind that blows that helped Do-san win (which he thinks the reason why he keeps on winning, forgetting he can able to get it if he trust himself), Ji-pyeong and halmeoni relationship (as an orphan Ji-pyeong never had this kind of relationship, but with halmeoni assuring him that she will be their no matter what, the good boy has a family), Dal-mi wanting to be at the 32nd floor (her determination to strive hard to be a CEO and prove everyone that she can make it trusting her capabilities) and  In-jae's giving chances (which her step father didn't gave her). This series showed that trusting in yourself can bring confidence and trusting others can also empower you. The first step to success is believing in yourself.

Applying the learnings from your choices

- Experience is the best teacher. It might be harsh, just like when Samsan Tech was acquired by 2STO, only the Engineers were taken, poor Dal-mi and Saha. But, that became a learning experience for Dal-mi and for the others, prior to taking actions you must think not just once but as many as you can.

Review and revise.

- Ji-pyeong has always been there for Dal-mi helping her with the team, his (harsh but real) criticism help her to be the person she become. We should reevaluate and assess the plans and the situation.

Teamwork

- As cliche as it may sound, two heads are better than one. But how about the Sam San? Friendship, trust and commitment. A perfect combination that will lead to success.

Uplift

- In your journey to the top, uplift others too. Make them achieve their goals too. Extend your helping hands.

Passion infused with action

- Passion + Action = SUCCESS. Combining passion and action can lead to success. Like Dal-mi keep your passion burning and take necessary actions to achieve your dreams.

If you want to change the world, follow your dreams!

I am strong believer that anyone and everyone of us can make an impact and change the world. I remember when I was ask what phrase/quote would you want to be seen/write beside your name, without any hesitation and full of conviction I said "an agent of change." Yet, as the years have passed I guess it is the other way around, the world changed me, but with these phrases I have realized it is really hard to change the world but start in your little ways, follow your dreams and achieving it, for the betterment of not just for yourself  but also helping others to achieve their dreams too.

Follow your dreams, sail without a map if you can, if you fail, stand up blaze a trail and leave a path for others. Good luck!
