10 Important Life Lessons SpongeBob SquarePants Taught Us

The absorbent and yellow and porous sea creature who lives in a pineapple under the sea

For two decades, SpongeBob SquarePants, the absorbent and yellow and porous sea creature who lives in a pineapple under the sea has inspired and delighted the viewers with his adventure. Here are some important life lesson I have compiled from various articles that captured my attention:

1. Be prepared for any challenge and let your confidence resonate.

The iconic I'm ready! mantra of SpongeBob shows that what ever life may bring I am confident and ready to take it, if I fall I will stand tall if I will win I will help others too in the process.

2. Be kind to everyone but not to the point of death

We should always be kind, we don't know what others are experiencing, kindness leads to peace.  Kindness can be like a domino, with a single act toppling into another until a new friendship forms, knocking down isolation, sadness, and suffering as it grows. But remember, don't risk your life.

3. Own your mistakes, no matter the consequences

Owning our mistakes takes a lot of courage and confidence, not to mention the amount of consequences you might get. But in owning it, you will learn from it. Just like when SpongeBob accidentally splatted a drop of paint in Mr. Krab's most prized possession.

When SpongeBob mess up he always apologize, yes people are angry but because of him telling the truth, people forgives him.

4. Our identities shouldn't be made into jokes

This is one of my favorite. I remember when SpongeBob made squirrel jokes, and Sandy his friend was hurt and turn into the joke herself. It hurts when people make fun of you, but it hits harder when a friend do it to you.

We have different identities, shouldn't be discriminating each other.

5. Equal division of responsibilities

There is this such "father figure" notion that the father will work and the mother will stay at home. In this episode, SpongeBob and Patrick decided to adopt an abandoned clam, Patrick being the father working for 8 hours and SpongeBob being the mother and staying at home doing the household chores.

Equal responsibility is important in the family, wives voices being heard and suggestions being accepted is important. Responsibilities are divided equality and help being present as always makes the family intact.

6. Your imagination is an asset

It always start with imagination, and turning that imagination into reality.

7. You can always count on your friends

I really love the bond and friendship that this shows shows. This episode was a jaw-dropping one for me, seeing the whole gang being a wonderful and amazing band, helping Squidward.

8.Don't forget to have fun

This is one of the things adults forget, having fun. Life is full of stresses, have fun, relax.

9. It's OK to fail

There might be an exact statistic on how many times SpongeBob failed in boating but he never loses his courage to try again. It is OK to fail, failure is a delayed success, cliché as it may sound but failures and setbacks are normal part of life, it is a part of our upcoming successes.

10. ALWAYS STRIVE TO MAKE THE WORLD BETTER.

In the episode "Rock Bottom", Spongebob takes a wrong bus, and accidentally ends up in an area known as "Rock Bottom", where the citizens have unusual accents and mannerisms. He tried all means to go back up but to NO avail, eventually with the help of one citizen he got back to Bikini Bottom.

Life is not always happy just like jellyfishing and as forgiving as Mrs. Puffs boating school, we might hit rock bottom as some point in time, wherein sometimes we might get some help from citizens with unusual accents and mannerisms, and help us to make the world a better place.
